What You'll Do Daily
Front Desk & Customer Service
- Answer phones and greet visitors with a warm, professional manner
- Transfer calls and assist customers and guests
- Work as part of our front office team
- File invoices and scale tickets in numerical order
- Process paperwork from our Feed Plant
- Create reports using Excel
- Sort and distribute mail from our main office and branches
- Maintain vendor insurance certificates and hauling company documentation
- Handle other duties as needed
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 months to 1 year of office or customer service experience preferred
- Valid driver's license is a plus
- Excellent communication skills - You'll be the first voice customers hear and face they see, so a friendly phone manner, clear speaking voice, and professional presence are essential
- Strong written communication for emails and correspondence
- Ability to listen carefully and relay information accurately between departments
- Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, email)
- Typing speed of at least 30-35 words per minute
- Comfortable working with numbers and 10-key calculator
- Basic math skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to calculate rates, discounts, and percentages
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable sitting for extended periods
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Good vision for computer work and detailed tasks
- Able to handle occasional exposure to grain dust (important if you have dust allergies)
