The Communications Specialist plays a vital role in advancing Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's brand and reputation through strategic, engaging communications. This position collaborates with stakeholders across the University to develop compelling content, support media relations, manage internal communications, and promote institutional priorities across a variety of platforms. • Generous Time Off: Enjoy up to 18 days of paid leave in your first year, including 3 days granted upon hire and 15 days accrued throughout the year. You'll also receive 9+ paid holidays, including the day after Thanksgiving and the week between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day.

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

• Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience writing, editing, and creating content across multiple communication platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting media relations and developing strategic communications.

• Familiarity with graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite.

• Experience working in higher education or another complex, mission-driven organization is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Exceptional written, verbal, and editing skills.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency with content management systems and social media platforms.

• Ability to translate technical or complex information into clear, audience-focused messaging.

• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail and commitment to brand consistency.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of current communications trends, tools, and best practices.
