Role Overview:
The role holder is responsible for managing the accounting function within the Otis ME entities with guidance from the management, for ensuring the effective management and implementation of accounting policies as per approved guidelines. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Close & Reporting

• Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements

• Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments

• Analyze variances (actual vs budget/forecast/prior periods)

2. General Ledger Management

• Oversee general ledger activities and ensure data integrity

• Review reconciliations (balance sheet accounts, intercompany, etc.)

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)

3. Compliance & Controls

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and corporate policies

• Support audits (internal and external) with required documentation

• Maintain strong governance over financial reporting processes

4. Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the R2R team

• Allocate work, monitor performance, and ensure SLA adherence

• Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

5. Process Improvement & Transformation

• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency

• Drive standardization and best practices across R2R processes

• Participate in ERP/system implementations or enhancements

6. Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with FP&A, AP, AR, Tax, and business units

• Act as key point of contact for finance leadership

• Provide insights and financial analysis to support decision-making

7. Intercompany & Consolidation

• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations

• Support group consolidation activities where applicable

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in managing financial accounting functions
  • At least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities  
  • Master's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
  • Relevant certification such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred
