This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Summary

The Lead supports the Production Supervisor in ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing and packaging of burrito, flour, or corn products according to customer specifications. They operate and adjust all department machinery, assist with startup and shutdown processes, and help train Operators and new team members. The Lead maintains GMP standards, monitors equipment condition, reports issues, and ensures product quality and proper documentation. They coordinate production schedules, manage packer breaks and rotations, and complete data entry in Plant View.

Responsible for following company policies/procedures written or verbal. Must be able to work competently and efficiently with minimal supervision. Work as a team member toward task accomplishments. Performs all other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required for the Position

  • Minimum 6 months of machine operator experience required.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Requires flexibility and frequent use of wrists and hands.
  • Job requires walking, bending, standing, and lifting.
  • Training Checklists (where applicable) within a 10workingday trial period.
  • Must complete the Lead Training Checklist (departmentspecific) within the 10workingday trial period.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with mechanics, quality control, and supervisors.
  • Able to manage multiple projects under short deadlines.
  • Must be able to use a calculator for production efficiencies, scrap yields, SPC specifications, and ingredient weights.
  • Able to read Operator Logs, SOPs, and other production documents.
  • Able to write complete and accurate production recordings in Operator Logs and documentation.
  • Must be able to use and read scales and thermometers accurately

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and move up to 250 lbs using mechanical assistance.

Selection Criteria

Openings for this position will be filled by the most qualified, eligible bidder per Tyson’s Job Bidding Policy. 

  • Successful candidates may not be allowed to apply for another position for six (6) months unless the position is a promotion
  • If a job posting fails to produce any qualified candidates, the company may assign the position to a qualified probationary Team Member or recruit from the outside.
  • Must have completed 90-day probationary period to apply. If a non-probationary period team member is not selected, probationary team members will be considered.
  • Must have a satisfactory attendance record of 3 points or less.
  • Must not have received a written warning/suspension in the last 6 months.
