About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads the Manufacturing Engineering team in Vietnam. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, technical direction, and capability development of the Manufacturing Engineering function, while supporting the broader strategy of strengthening Specialized's manufacturing and supplier ecosystem in Vietnam.
The position serves as a key technical leader for composite product development and industrialization, partnering closely with Design Engineering, Quality, and supplier teams across regions. In addition to leading the local Manufacturing Engineering team, the role plays an important part in developing engineering talent, building supplier capabilities, and ensuring manufacturing readiness throughout the product development lifecycle.
This is an opportunity to influence both product and organizational success by combining hands-on engineering expertise, people leadership, and cross-functional collaboration in support of Specialized's long-term supply chain development strategy.
How You Will Make a Difference
Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team, providing technical guidance, coaching, and prioritization of day-to-day activities.
Support the Vietnam Operations Leader on technical manufacturing and engineering matters, providing expertise, recommendations, and execution leadership.
Drive manufacturing engineering activities from design review through production readiness, ensuring successful industrialization of new products.
Provide technical leadership in composite product manufacturing, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), process development, and supplier readiness.
Partner with global and regional engineering teams to strengthen engineering capability, knowledge sharing, and talent development.
Build strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to improve manufacturing performance and product quality.
Drive resolution of complex manufacturing and engineering challenges through structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Support the development of a robust Vietnam supply chain through supplier capability development and engineering excellence.
What You Need to Win
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, Industrialization, or related functions.
Proven experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing process development, and production readiness.
Strong expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), composite manufacturing, and product industrialization.
Experience working closely with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and influence stakeholders across functions and regions.
Experience developing engineering talent, supplier capability, and organizational capability.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
