Senior Conveyancer | Cape Town
Our client, a well-established and growing law firm based in Cape Town, is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Conveyancer to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an admitted Conveyancer who enjoys managing transactions from instruction through to registration while working closely with clients, estate agents, banks and other stakeholders.
The Role
You'll take ownership of a busy conveyancing practice with a primary focus on property transfers and bond registrations. The role includes preparing and reviewing conveyancing documentation, signing up clients, resolving transaction-related issues and ensuring matters progress efficiently through to registration.
You will also:
- Manage residential property transfer transactions
- Prepare and oversee bond documentation
- Sign up clients on transfer and bond matters
- Draft basic property-related agreements
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, financial institutions and other stakeholders
- Attend to registrations and the removal of notes at the Deeds Office (approximately twice per week)
- Provide practical legal guidance on conveyancing-related matters
Requirements
- Admitted Conveyancer
- Minimum 5 years' collective experience in conveyancing
- Solid experience with:
- Property transfers
- Bond documentation and client sign-ups
- Managing day-to-day conveyancing issues
- Experience dealing with the Deeds Office, including registrations and removal of notes
- Notary Public qualification advantageous
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Experience using conveyancing software would be advantageous
