Description
Employment Type: Full-time
Pay: $60/hour, plus mileage reimbursement and premium pay for holidays and overtime
- Competitive pay of $60/hour, with mileage reimbursement
- 5 sick days (40 hours), per the NYS Paid Sick Leave Act

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years in utilization review, claims adjudication, medical review, fraud investigation, surveillance, or monitoring; OR 3 years of clinical or administrative experience; OR a Bachelor's in Nursing and 2 years of clinical/administrative experience
- At least 1 year of survey experience (required)
- SMQT certification preferred, but must be obtained within 12 months of employment
- Strong computer skills; strong attention to detail, interpersonal, communication, investigative, and analytical abilities; able to work independently and in a team
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to on-site facilities
- Flexibility with scheduling, as the state determines the work schedule
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evening shifts on a rotating basis
- This is a travel position
- Participate in surveys and complaint investigations, including allegations of abuse and neglect, at nursing homes
- Produce written documentation and draft Statements of Deficiencies (SOD) within required time frames, using Principles of Documentation
- Assess compliance with Plans of Correction within required time frames
- Complete data entry in federal and state reporting databases as required
- Participate in state monitoring during Immediate Jeopardy situations
- Attend meetings and testify in administrative hearings as needed
- Adhere to DOH work schedules, policies, and procedures
- Travel to on-site locations according to the work schedule
