Description
The Professional Services Veterinarian is an exciting opportunity for a confident, customer-focused veterinary professional who is passionate about advancing the standard of care in veterinary medicine through education, training and collaboration. Based in Melbourne, this full-time role will work closely with veterinary practices across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, helping veterinarians deliver exceptional care to pets and their families while supporting the growth and utilisation of IDEXX diagnostic products and services. The successful candidate will be located within driving distance of an airport to enable regular travel to customers throughout the region.

In this role:
- You will consult with veterinary practice owners and veterinarians, primarily through face-to-face interactions, to support medical standards and diagnostic protocols that enhance patient care.
- You will provide education, training and ongoing support to veterinarians and key customers, positively influencing clinical outcomes.
- You will take a consultative approach to uncover customer needs and identify opportunities to improve diagnostic utilisation and standards of care.
- You will partner closely with the account managers, regional sales managers and field support team to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
- You will collaborate with internal IDEXX teams and deliver technical training focused on diagnostic education and best practices.
- You will represent IDEXX with key customers, Key Opinion Leaders and veterinary industry organisations.
- You will present as an expert speaker at professional meetings, conferences and industry events.
- You will support the medical messaging and positioning of IDEXX products and services.
- You will build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted clinical advisor within the veterinary community.
- You will travel extensively throughout your designated region to support customers and business objectives.
What you need to succeed:
- You will hold a Veterinary Science degree (BVSc, DVM or equivalent).
- You will be a registered veterinarian in Australia, with 3+ years’ experience in veterinary practice.
- You will have a strong knowledge of and passion for IDEXX products and services, with the ability to communicate their value effectively.
- You will be naturally curious and skilled at influencing and building credibility with veterinary professionals.
- You will have outstanding communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- You will be passionate about education, training and supporting veterinary professionals.
- You will be self-motivated, organised and able to effectively prioritise competing demands.
- You will be comfortable working independently while also contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
- You will be able and willing to travel extensively across your designated region.
- Veterinary industry, commercial or customer-facing experience will be highly regarded.
- Experience in diagnostic veterinary pathology will be highly regarded.
