Description
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop 3D structural models using Autodesk Revit.
- Prepare permit drawings, construction documents, and related project deliverables.
- Modify and update drawings based on engineering direction and project revisions.
- Coordinate structural models with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
- Participate in project coordination meetings as required.
- Review drawings and models for completeness, constructability, and adherence to company standards.
- Perform quality control reviews on personal work and assist in peer reviews as assigned.
- Maintain project documentation and revision records.
- Communicate project progress and design issues to project engineers and supervisors.
- Follow established drafting standards, procedures, and document control practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of drafting or design experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or comparable CAD software.
- Basic understanding of structural building systems and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines.
- Experience with structural drafting or modeling preferred.
- Experience with precast concrete or commercial construction projects preferred.
- Familiarity with BIM coordination processes preferred.
- Experience producing permit and construction documents preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and drafting standards preferred.
