The Electrical Engineering Manager will be responsible for the engineering, design, and delivery of electrical power and distribution systems for complex industrial, advanced technology, and energy projects in South Korea. Working closely with Project Managers, Mechanical and Process Engineers, multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and global AtkinsRéalis experts, the role ensures electrical designs are safe, reliable, compliant, and fully integrated with overall project execution.
With a strong focus on Advanced Technology (semiconductors, data centers, secondary batteries, advanced materials), Renewable Energy and Energy Transition (solar, onshore/offshore wind, energy storage systems, green hydrogen, battery value chain projects), and process‑driven industrial sectors including pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, food, agrifood, chemical, fine chemical, and broader industrial processing facilities, the Electrical Engineer will support projects across all phases—from concept and basic engineering through detailed design, construction, commissioning, and close‑out.
Your role
- Develop and deliver electrical engineering designs and deliverables in accordance with project scope, applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Design and specify power supply and distribution systems, including HV/MV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, emergency power systems, and grounding/earthing systems.
- Prepare and review single‑line diagrams (SLDs), load lists, cable schedules, equipment datasheets, electrical layouts, and technical specifications.
- Perform load flow, short‑circuit, and protection coordination studies, as required by project scope.
- Establish electrical design criteria, engineering philosophies, and discipline execution approaches aligned with project objectives, applicable standards, and client requirements.
- Lead the development and application of the electrical design basis, standardization practices, and QA/QC oversight to ensure consistent, high-quality engineering deliverables.
- Lead critical electrical equipment package reviews and vendor coordination activities to support technical alignment, timely decision-making, and successful equipment integration.
- Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Process, Piping, and I&C disciplines to ensure proper electrical integration of equipment and systems.
- Support vendor engagement and procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and FAT/SAT participation.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability assessments, incorporating outcomes into electrical designs.
- Provide electrical engineering support during construction, site activities, commissioning, and start‑up, including resolution of technical queries and field changes.
- Ensure compliance with international and local electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NFPA, client standards), particularly for regulated and mission‑critical facilities such as pharmaceutical plants and data centers.
- Collaborate with global AtkinsRéalis electrical subject matter experts to apply best practices, standardized methodologies, and lessons learned.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and documentation, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of electrical engineering outputs.
About you
