Join ACCIONA and be part of a team delivering one of New Zealand's most significant transport infrastructure projects. The Northland Corridor Warkworth to Te Hana - Ara Tūhono project will enhance connectivity, improve safety and support regional growth, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.
About Opportunity
As Senior Design Engineer, you will oversee the design elements of a complex infrastructure project, reporting to the Engineering Manager. You will coordinate the design team, including internal resources and external consultants, while maintaining strict quality control over deliverables. You will work closely with construction and procurement teams to integrate design requirements into the wider project strategy, and play a key role in stakeholder coordination and consultant management.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare and manage the design program schedule
- Run critical path reviews and adjust plans
- Facilitate risk workshops with project teams
- Oversee consultant agreements and performance
- Negotiate contract terms and manage commercial risk
- Coordinate design approvals across disciplines
- Drive constructability and value engineering reviews
Required Skills and Competencies
- Engineering degree (Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical)
- Experience in engineering design within infrastructure delivery
- Skilled in producing and reviewing technical drawings and specs
- Strong multidisciplinary teamwork and communication skills
- Sound understanding of design standards and delivery processes
The project will initially be based in Auckland and then move to an office between Warkworth and Wellsford.
