Job Description
Deliver employee relations (ER) support across Ameriprise India. Manage inbound queries submitted to the HR Service Center requiring general ER guidance to ensure compliance with HR policies, including providing consultation to employees, leaders, and HRBP on employee relations issues such as attendance, behavior, performance and policy violations. Provide intake and partner closely with the India ER COE in complex cases of harassment, discrimination etc. to ensure consistent case management and escalation procedures.Key Responsibilities:
ER Case Management
- Serve as the first point of contact for ER cases in India routed through HR Service Center.
- Manage assigned cases in a timely manner from intake to closure including fact-finding, documentation, risk assessment, and resolution.
- Handle issues related to performance, attendance, behavioral concerns, and policy violations.
Manager & Employee Advisory
- Provide direct ER consultation to managers and employees on workplace concerns.
- Advise on terminations, notice period queries, final settlement (F&F), and rehire eligibility.
- Guide leaders on disciplinary actions, performance improvement processes, and documentation standards.
Absence & Leave Management Support
- Provide ER-related support for leave of absence (LOA), alternate work arrangements (AWA), Medical accommodations and related scenarios.
- Guide employees and managers on policy application, eligibility, and process related to absence management.
- Partner with HR operations to ensure seamless execution and compliance.
Reporting, Documentation & Process Improvement
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive ER case documentation.
- Track case metrics and identify trends, root causes, and repeat issues.
- Provide insights to ER COE and HRBPs to support proactive risk mitigation.
Required qualification:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to recognize financial impacts and respond or escalate, as appropriate.
- Ability to take initiative and remain team player, act proactively, and think creatively.
- Ability to work independently following established procedures.
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Preferred qualification:
- Experience and knowledge of Employment/Labor laws, POSH etc.
