PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEER

We are looking for a highly experienced Process Safety Engineer to support and execute process safety engineering activities for major gas processing and oil & gas projects. The successful candidate will ensure that process safety principles are effectively integrated into engineering design and project execution from concept through commissioning while maintaining compliance with client specifications and international safety standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute process safety engineering activities including QRA, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL/SIS studies, LOPA, and risk assessments
• Prepare and review process safety deliverables including safety philosophies, consequence modeling, fire & explosion studies, and safety case documentation
• Participate in and support HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and other process safety workshops with multidisciplinary teams
• Perform consequence modeling and risk assessments using PHAST, SAFETI, or equivalent software
• Develop and review cause & effect charts, ESD philosophies, fire protection philosophies, and other safety-related documentation
• Ensure all process safety deliverables comply with client requirements and applicable international standards
• Coordinate with Process, Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Operations teams to ensure effective implementation of safety systems
• Provide technical recommendations on hazard identification, loss prevention, and inherently safer design principles
• Support engineering activities during FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases
• Liaise with clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities on process safety-related matters as required

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in process safety engineering within the oil & gas, gas processing, LNG, or petrochemical industry
• Strong experience in QRA, HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, SIL/SIS assessments, and consequence modeling
• Proficiency with process safety software such as PHAST, SAFETI, or equivalent
• Experience preparing fire & explosion studies, ESD philosophies, safety cases, and other process safety deliverables
• Knowledge of international standards including IEC 61511, IEC 61508, API, NFPA, and other relevant industry codes
• Experience with ADNOC gas processing or major Middle East oil & gas projects is highly preferred
• Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Professional certification in HAZOP facilitation, Functional Safety, or Process Safety is an advantage
