Job Description Summary
Responsible for supporting the development of and implementation of a facility-wide EHS culture through technical support, program development, and relationship building. Assist with the management of the plant Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs to ensure operations minimize the impact upon the environment and provide a safe and accident-free work environment.
Job Description
- Ensure all facility staff receive appropriate environmental training
- Champion and support the EHSS Pillar Team, Green Team, and Sustainable Development Program
- Environmental audit and regulatory inspection preparation
- Prepare and implement corrective actions from the Environmental Review
- Participate in environmental audit process at other facilities
- Review ENV data/info to identify trends & potential areas for risk reduction, own ENV KPIs
- Communicate potential risks to facility operations leadership and corporate environmental leadership based on evaluation of ENV data
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required. In Sciences (Engineering, Biology or Chemistry) preferred
- Masters in Engineering or Science preferred
- 6 – 12 years progressive experience in the environmental/engineering field
- Expert knowledge of all environmental regulations and their impact on the food industry
- Experience with developing engineering scope for new equipment to fulfill compliance needs
- Expert knowledge of operational practices for environmental control systems on water supply, wastewater, air pollution and solid waste.
- Leadership skills to work as a peer and advisor to other departments
- Excellent communication, presentation, and computer application skills

- Ability to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays when required
