A Day in the Life

At Medtronic, we are committed to alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life. We are seeking a driven and clinically confident Territory Manager, Spine to join our Sydney team and support the growth of our spine portfolio across public and private healthcare settings.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role focused on developing strong relationships with surgeons, theatre teams, and key hospital stakeholders. You will be responsible for supporting spine procedures, driving portfolio adoption, and delivering exceptional service across your territory.

The spine team is part of our Cranial and Spinal Technologies (CST) portfolio and is the market leader in spinal implants, robotics, and navigation. We are redefining cranial and spinal procedures to reduce variability and improve outcomes with the goal of restoring long-term quality of life for more patients. We are the first company to offer an integrated solution that includes artificial intelligence-driven surgical planning, personalized spinal implants, and robotic-assisted surgical delivery to make patient care more customized.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver education, in-services, product demonstrations, and trial support to clinical end users and hospital staff to support safe and effective use of the spine portfolio.
  • Maintain strong product and technical knowledge across Medtronic’s spine offering, including fixation, interbody, biologics, and enabling technologies where relevant to the territory.
  • Understand the competitive landscape, including key competitors, product positioning, and clinical or commercial differentiators in the spine market.
  • Gather market intelligence through customer conversations, procedure observations, competitor activity, and local market research.
  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities to expand portfolio penetration and grow the spine business across the Sydney territory.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to support account planning, customer engagement, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders and clinical champions to support long-term partnership and portfolio development.
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely updates to the Regional Sales Manager on territory performance, customer activity, and market trends.
  • Continuously strengthen territory management, consultative selling, and account development capability.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with Medtronic policies, hospital requirements, and applicable compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school certificate (Year 12) is minimum requirement
  • Proven success in a territory-based medical device sales, surgical sales or theatre-based support role
  • Experience supporting clinical procedures in operating theatre and delivering technical product expertise. Proven ability to operate effectively in complex clinical environments
  • Ability to travel as required to meet customer requirements in assigned territory, conferences, and business meetings.
