Responsibilities
Project Management
- Analyze and understand the project needs & requirements, including the equipment & resources required during the execution phase.
- Prepare & formalize specific and relevant "Logistics Execution Plans" and / or "Modus Operandi" for a particular project.
- Undertake Road & Site surveys whenever required (including the preparation of HSE Management Plan specific to a road survey if required by the client).
- Prepare & formalize specific and relevant "Road Surveys" and / or "Site Surveys" and / or "Road & Site Surveys" whenever required.
- Prepare & formalize any technical documents which may be required for the purpose of the Project (using software such as but not limited to AUTOCAD, MS Project... if and whenever required).
- Manage the Project team to ensure safe and smooth execution of Project operational requirements.
- Build Up of the project costing and specific project P&L in conjunction with the management.
- Ensure that all operations are conducted within the QHSE standards of the Project and country of operation.
Business Development & Manage client portfolio or Seek out project opportunities
- Keep up to date with developments in the industry
- Target and Secure Logistics project
- Prepare and Implement Logistics Execution Plan
- Manage existing client portfolio with emphasis on service quality, compliance and QHSE
Manage usual client’s relationship
- Lead communication with the client in case of operational issue (potential or real)
- Involvement in credit control committee
Monitor quality of service and profitability for the department
- Responsible for the achievement of budget goals in terms of gross margin, costs, disbursements, DSO and Quality of Service
- Review and analyze disbursements + involvement in disbursement control committee (request arbitrations or decision validation concerning files in anomaly) in collaboration with Disbursement Control Manager
Manage operational relationship with subcontractors
- In charge of operational relationship with selected subcontractors (including tariffs negotiation) including internal ones
- Organize and follow the quality of service delivered by the subcontractors
- Ensure the balance in terms of workload between subcontractors
Team Leadership
- Support local teams and add value through personal intervention, advice, presentations and any other appropriate method.
- Ensure Regional synergies and effective cooperation
- Assist in Implementation of new businesses opportunities
- Assist in “troubleshooting” operational and commercial issues o Help select and implement best practice logistics solutions
Alert/Inform Management
- Implement specific organization/ control on major potential risks
- Alert management in case of significant operational issue (huge impact on quality of service, on invoicing, on sensitive clients...)
- Inform his management of any information relevant regarding our business activity or environment
- Identify issues raised during operations processing whatever in his scope or not.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Project Management, Engineering or any other equivalent qualification as minimum
- Experience in Oil & Gas and/or Industrial Projects is an advantage
- Experience working in Africa would be an added advantage
- Mechanical and/or electrical experience preferred
- Experience in handling, transporting (escorting) and positioning project cargo including lifts (power transformers, shunt reactors, Gensets) compulsory
- At least 5 - 10 years in Project experience with 15 - 20 years’ experience as a Senior Manager
- Conversant with MS Project Strong skills in MS Office
- Ability to lead teams to excellence
