Description
Join OneAdvanced
When a customer moves their IT services to OneAdvanced, the first few months shape how they feel about us for years to come. OneAdvanced IT Services delivers managed IT, cloud and security services to large enterprise and public sector organisations across the UK, and as our Senior Service Transition Manager, you will make sure every move into our care is smooth, well planned and built to last. You will take services on from previous suppliers and in-house teams, for new customers and for existing customers adding new services. Reporting to our Head of Service Management & Reliability, you will have no direct reports. Instead, you will lead through influence, bringing project, technical, operational and supplier teams together behind one clear plan.
This is a hybrid role, based mainly from home, with occasional travel to our Birmingham and York offices and to customer sites across the UK during service take-ons and early life support, typically no more than one night away every other week.
What You Will Do
You will own each transition from the first plan through to a stable, settled service that our Operations teams are proud to take on.
- Deliver transitions from start to finish to an agreed plan, staying on top of risks, issues, dependencies and resourcing
- Check each service against agreed acceptance criteria and give a clear, evidence-based recommendation on whether it is ready to go live
- Make sure support models, documentation, training and knowledge transfer genuinely work before go-live, not just look good on paper
- Plan and run cutovers, including the handover away from outgoing suppliers or in-house teams
- Guide new services through their early life support period until they are running smoothly day to day
- Lead regular progress meetings and reporting with customers, being honest about where things stand and raising issues early
- Use AI and automation to take the manual effort out of planning, documentation, tracking and reporting
- Review each transition once it is complete and carry the lessons into the next one
What You Will Have
You will bring hands-on transition experience and the calm, honest judgement that keeps customers and colleagues on side.
- Experience in IT service transition, ideally on the supplier side at a managed service provider, outsourcer or systems integrator
- Hands-on experience producing the core transition documents, from service design and acceptance criteria to knowledge transfer plans and early life support exit criteria
- A track record of bringing together teams you don’t manage, inside and outside the business, to meet a shared deadline
- The confidence to hold your ground under pressure, and the judgement to know when to escalate or adapt
- The ability to explain a recommendation in plain English to customers without a technical background
- ITIL 4 Foundation, with further ITIL, SIAM or PRINCE2 qualifications a bonus
- A genuine interest in using AI to improve how services are delivered
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and support cutovers outside normal working hours
Applications close on Sunday 15 November 2026, so please apply before then to be considered.
