About the Role

Working on-site in Hahnville, LA, the Fitter Structural takes raw steel components and transforms them into finished assemblies ready for welding and installation. You will collaborate closely with welders, supervisors, and other tradespeople to keep projects moving safely and on schedule. This position rewards attention to detail, problem-solving, and a steady commitment to quality in demanding field and shop environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret structural drawings, isometrics, and specifications to accurately lay out and fit steel components.
• Measure, mark, cut, and align beams, plates, columns, and other structural members for fit-up.
• Tack-weld joints to hold assemblies in position before final welding.
• Use grinders, torches, levels, squares, and measuring tools to achieve proper fit and alignment.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances, and adjust as needed to meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with welders and inspectors to support quality control and timely completion.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and rigging practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and promptly report equipment or material issues.
