Description

Product Development uses design thinking & user experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services that delight our customers. We bring innovative, exciting, and sustainable ideas to life. We have opportunities around the world for you to contribute to advancements in autonomy, electrification, smart mobility technologies, and more!

In this position...

As the IVI Hardware Quality Supervisor – Electronics Platforms Warranty & Customer Quality, you will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Supplier Quality, Purchasing, Finance and other stakeholders. You will drive rapid problem resolution and prevent recurrence across our Infotainment Hardware, Displays, Clusters and Audio, including in-house electronics. A key focus is converting warranty and customer data into clear priorities, accountable actions and measurable improvements in quality, customer satisfaction and warranty cost.

What you'll do...

  • Lead the identification, containment, root-cause resolution and prevention of warranty and customer quality issues affecting electronic platforms
  • Lead Electronics Platforms warranty performance for 0, 1 and 3 Months in Service (MIS), with emphasis on early identification of emerging issues
  • Monitor warranty trends, failure modes, repair information, customer symptoms and other field data. Set priorities based on customer impact, occurrence, severity, trend and financial exposure
  • Lead cross-functional reviews of significant warranty issues. Ensure clear ownership, timing, containment, root cause and permanent corrective actions
  • Lead quality activities for Field Service Actions, including technical investigation, issue definition, affected-population analysis, containment, corrective actions and implementation readiness. Monitor actions after implementation to verify effectiveness and prevent repeat concerns
  • Reduce Electronics Platforms warranty spending by identifying and prioritizing major cost drivers. Build a cost-reduction pipeline with accountable owners, actions, timing and expected benefits, and track results to confirm the savings are realized
  • Partner with Engineering, Service, Purchasing, Finance, Manufacturing and suppliers to pursue cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Drive disciplined problem solving using 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa/fishbone, fault-tree, Pareto and statistical data analysis, so actions address true root causes rather than symptoms
  • Escalate issues when progress, technical resolution, containment or ownership does not meet business needs
  • Identify common failure mechanisms and systemic weaknesses across multiple electronic platforms. Feed lessons learned back into product development, validation, manufacturing and supplier processes
  • Own problems through closure, hold cross-functional teams accountable for commitments, and communicate complex technical issues simply to senior leadership
  • Measure success through 0/1/3 MIS warranty performance, warranty spending efficiency (CPR and supplier recovery targets), closure and recurrence of major issues, Field Service Action execution and effectiveness, time to detect and time to resolve, and effectiveness of preventive actions

You'll have…

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related technical discipline
  • Experience in automotive electronics, electrical systems, product engineering, manufacturing, service or quality
  • Demonstrated experience solving complex product or field-quality problems
  • Experience with warranty data, field-performance analysis or customer quality concerns
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive actions without relying solely on direct authority
  • Strong written, verbal and executive-level communication skills
  • Ability to turn large amounts of technical and warranty information into clear priorities and actionable plans

Even better, you may have…

  • Experience with automotive electronic modules, electrical architectures, connectivity, infotainment, controls, power electronics or related vehicle electronic systems
  • Experience with warranty cost analysis and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Experience supporting Field Service Actions or similar field-quality campaigns
  • Working knowledge of 8D, FMEA, Design Verification, Statistical Process Control, Pareto analysis and root-cause analysis
  • Experience working across Product Development, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Service and Finance
