About eJam
eJam is a privately held consumer products company that has built, scaled, and exited multiple brands. Our portfolio includes category leaders ranked at the top of Amazon, carried in major retailers nationwide, and sold across DTC, marketplaces, and every channel in between.
We’re not a startup hoping something works. We’re a team that has done it repeatedly: taken products from idea to category leader, landed them on retail shelves nationwide, and built real brands that consumers love. We operate like a holding company with the speed of a startup: small teams with real ownership and accountability.
This is the place where you’ll see the entire machine: sourcing, product development, packaging, manufacturing, compliance, marketing, marketplace strategy, retail, all under one roof. If you want to build and ship consumer products at scale, there is no better place than this.
We ship hundreds of video ads a month across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube, and we are building a bench of freelance direct response copywriters who can write the scripts behind them. You get a brief, you send back a script with hooks and visuals, we produce it, and you see how it performed. This is freelance, project-based work, not a retainer or full-time role. You are paid hourly, and the writers whose work performs get more briefs.
What you will do
- Write video ad scripts. Creator and UGC-style talking heads, voiceover-driven product demos, founder and expert angles, problem-solution advertorials, mashups. Mostly 30 to 90 seconds, written for Meta, TikTok, or YouTube.
- Write hooks in volume. Every script comes with several options we can test.
- Write to trigger emotion, but use logic to justify. You can craft strong words and copy, but the flow makes sense to the viewer and drives purchase intent.
- Write the visuals with the words. Every line of dialogue gets a visual next to it: what is on screen, the on-screen text, the product moment.
- Work from specific or vague briefs. You are flexible in your approach and can fill in the blanks even if not everything is put in front of you. You ask the right questions to unblock yourself as needed.
- Know and use performance metrics. You can see what has worked in the past and use that to inform what you write in the future. You learn from performance.
- Stay inside the lines. Pest control and food have claim rules. We give you the do and do not list for each product and you write within it.
