Overview
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Branch Director, the Teen Director directs overall operation of a broad range of programs for teen members at Club One (such as Education, Social Recreation, STEAM, and Leadership and Service, and Physical Education) with the primary concern for the program of activities. The Teen Director supports our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Health & Wellness, and Good Character and Citizenship of our members. Plans, develops, implements, coordinates and supervises programs and program staff, and performs related administrative duties. Markets and establishes community relations to support Club One. Safety is the number one priority of the Teen Director.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Due to the relationships with members, staff, and volunteers, a minimum of 2 years’ commitment is recommended. Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External: Maintains contact as needed with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
Qualifications
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Four year degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the educational development needs of young people.
- Strong communication skills, understanding of group dynamics.
- Demonstrated organizational and project management abilities.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Valid Driver’s License with clear driving record and ability to secure Class B license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Normal hearing, speech and visual acuity.
- Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
- Walking around and standing for an extended period of time.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance.
- Use of hands and arms to pick up and carry supplies and equipment.
- Finger dexterity required to manipulated objects with fingers, rather than work with whole hand(s) or arm(s); i.e., using a keyboard.
- Ability to work in a very noisy environment.
