Overview

Element has an opportunity for Surveyor to join our growing team. Your primary responsibility is to serve as a regional expert in expert of analytical instrumentation, analyzing various matrixes, installation, servicing & maintenance of sophisticated analytical instruments.

 

This role is based in Kaki Bukit, Singapore. 

 

Responsibilities

The Surveyor role is responsible for managing everyday survey work to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant surveying services across multiple EGT projects. This role requires the application of sound technical skills and judgement, planning and resource management, survey data governance, and client-facing responsibilities. The Resident Surveyor acts as the focal point for surveying matters, establishes best practices, and drives adoption of new technologies for automation, data analysis, processing, and reporting.

 

 

- Adhere to Element Quality and SHE management system policies and procedures.- Assist with hazard identification and risk assessment exercises within their areas of responsibility.- Monitor day-to-day health and safety in the area of responsibility and ensure all hazards, near misses and accidents are reported.- Manage Survey personnel across multiple projects; plan workloads, assign tasks, and supervise performance.- Provides guidance to junior Surveyors.- Inspire and drive high performance to ensure all readings are taken on a timely, efficient, and accurate basis.- Conduct periodic site skills training, related to discipline, to maintain and upgrade team capability.- Resource planning: Plan equipment resources; maintain forecasts and utilization.- Lead, manage, and plan site survey activities/work schedules and resources for both manual and robotic surveys to ensure smooth project progress.- Plan and coordinate daily survey activity, including workforce and equipment allocation.- Set up survey points and levels on site; verify and maintain survey control points in line with statutory and project requirements.- Attend site and coordination meetings as the client-facing representative to explain results and propose solutions.- Actively cross reference movement trends with alternative modes of instrumentation- Escalate significant survey risks and anomalies to project teams and management.- Take responsibility for and exercise authority over survey monuments, survey instruments and their calibration status, survey calculations and coordinate outputs.- Responsible for survey worker technical competence, and process and standards adoption for both manual and robotic surveys.- Ensure field procedures, calibration, and verification checks meet accuracy requirements.- Track and maintain calibration records and initiate calibration activities to comply with technical requirements.- Review, verify and approve all survey calculations and outputs before issue to clients.- Ensure data quality, traceability and compliance with project requirements.- Improve workflows and reduce cycle times.- Interface: Work with project and tender teams on survey approach, costing, and planning.- Contribute to repository of best-practice and survey know-how to build team competence.- Work together with Quality team to conduct site inspections for quality control.- Verify survey control networks and as-built records for compliance.- Contribute to process documentation and survey reports.- Adhere and update best practices and SOPs.- Serve as focal point for surveying matters.- Adapt company Survey Quality Plans and Method Statements to project requirements.- Ensure all survey equipment is properly maintained through a Survey Instrument Calibration Procedure.- Implement and manage instrument calibration, testing and maintenance programs.- Ensure compliance with defined calibration procedures and project requirements

 

Skills / Qualifications

- Degree or Diploma in Land Surveying, Engineering Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.- Not less than ten years’ experience in construction surveying, geotechnical monitoring, or infrastructure monitoring projects- Strong understanding of survey control networks, traversing, levelling, and coordinate systems- Experience with deformation monitoring, settlement monitoring, and automated monitoring systems (AMS)- Proficient in total station operations, survey equipment calibration, and field data collection- Knowledge of survey calculations, least-squares adjustments, coordinate transformations, and data validation techniques- Experience reviewing and interpreting survey data, identifying anomalies, and investigating measurement discrepancies- Familiarity with survey QA/QC procedures, instrument calibration requirements, and industry standards.- Working knowledge of survey and monitoring software such as Leica Captivate, Leica GeoMoS, StarNet, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications.- Ability to prepare technical reports, survey documentation, and project deliverables- Experience reviewing project specifications, survey requirements, and contract documentation.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.- Good understanding of construction site safety requirements and safe working practices.- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.- Experience with digital survey workflows, automation, data processing, and reporting tools will be an advantage.Preferred Attributes- Experience in tunnelling, rail, transportation, or major infrastructure projects- Professional Membership with a recognised surveying institution (e.g., SISV, RICS, CICES, or equivalent).- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with survey technologies and industry best practices
