JOB SUMMARY:
The Career Development Case Manager empowers individuals to achieve employment and training goals through individualized coaching, resource navigation, and career planning. This role works to ensure the success of the job seeker by offering coaching and resources very specific to each client. This position works collaboratively with individuals, employers, training providers, and community partners to address barriers and support successful workforce outcomes.

Client Coaching and Career Development

  • Build trusting relationships with individuals from different walks of life
  • Assess job seeker strengths, skills, interests, and barriers to employment. Determine eligibility and suitability for employment and training grant assistance
  • Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to support job seeker success
  • Motivate and support individuals through periods of change and transition

Communication and Customer Service

  • Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Facilitate productive conversations with individuals, employers, training providers, and community partners
  • Deliver services using a collaborative, human-centered approach
  • Present information to individuals in an engaging and professional manner

Case Management and Organization

  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Develop, implement and monitor individualized employment and training plans
  • Maintain accurate case files, documentation, and data entry in accordance with program requirements
  • Ability to navigate complex program guidelines, maintain compliance and make the information easily accessible to customers

Problem Solving and Resource Navigation

  • Identify barriers that may impact employment or training success; work with internal and external partners to alleviate such barriers
  • Coordinate supportive services and referrals to community resources
  • Adapt service delivery approach to meet the unique needs of each job seeker

Youth Engagement (Youth-Focused Caseloads)

  • Support youth through career exploration, work-based learning and educational attainment activities
  • Collaborate with schools, youth-serving organizations, and community partners
  • Facilitate connections to employment, training, mentoring and supportive services that promote long-term success

Performs other related duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and intent of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required

We value experience in workforce development, career counseling, human resources or any field that requires coaching, collaboration and human-centered service delivery.  We are seeking someone who can empower individuals to achieve employment and training goals through effective coaching, resource navigation, and relationship building.  Successful candidates demonstrate the ability to balance participant needs, program requirements, and community partnerships while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.  Individuals must demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to explain complex program requirements, employment resources, and career pathways in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and effectively engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds, supporting them in overcoming barriers and achieving their goals
  • Strong coaching, active listening, and motivational skills to guide participants through career planning, training, and employment-related decisions
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation, case notes, eligibility records, and data entry in compliance with program requirements including Federal, State, and county regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Adaptability and the ability to navigate changing systems, policies, funding requirements, and workforce development priorities while maintaining high-quality service delivery

Experience

Individuals typically develop these competencies through approximately two (2) years of experience in fields such as:

  • Social work or human services
  • Career Counseling or Workforce Development
  • Human Resources
  • Case management, eligibility, or compliance-driven roles
  • Other positions requiring person-centered service, collaboration, and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment

Supplemental Information

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.

While performing the essential functions of this job conditions such as fumes, noxious odors,

mists, gasses, and poor ventilation that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or the skin.

Employee may be exposed to disease of known or unknown origin, blood-borne pathogens, body

fluids and tissue, the threat of direct or indirect violence/conflict by other individuals, and other

unanticipated circumstances associated with the position.

Employees on occasion encounter unsanitary conditions in the home of the program participant.
