Due to continued growth in the Southwest, our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead major heavy industrial construction projects valued at more than $200 million.
About the Position
The Construction Manager will provide overall field leadership for large-scale heavy industrial construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and project closeout. This individual will oversee field operations, project execution, scheduling, procurement coordination, safety, quality, and productivity while ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Working closely with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients, the Construction Manager will establish project execution strategies, coordinate resources, and lead high-performing construction teams on some of the largest and most technically challenging projects in the region.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead all field operations for major heavy industrial construction projects.
- Develop and execute comprehensive construction plans in partnership with the Project Manager.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and construction sequencing to maximize efficiency.
- Direct project superintendents to maintain safe, productive, and efficient work operations.
- Oversee development and management of CPM project schedules.
- Ensure procurement activities align with project milestones and construction schedules.
- Coordinate monthly schedule updates with internal teams and trade partners.
- Drive project safety, quality, cost control, productivity, and profitability objectives.
- Manage project closeout, punch lists, commissioning activities, and owner turnover.
- Interpret and administer prime contracts, subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and construction documents.
- Participate in client presentations, business development initiatives, and preconstruction planning as needed.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence throughout the project team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related construction discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive construction supervision and field leadership experience.
- Proven experience managing heavy industrial construction projects exceeding $200 million in value.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, procurement, contract administration, and project execution.
- Experience leading multiple superintendents, subcontractors, and field teams.
- Working knowledge of CPM scheduling and large-scale project coordination.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Willingness to relocate to or travel throughout the Phoenix, Arizona market.
