Salary: AED 240,000 – AED 360,000 per annum
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer with strong experience in C# and .NET to join a fast-paced engineering team building scalable, high-performance backend services.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, developing reliable APIs and services, and working with modern cloud technologies. Experience within fintech, payments or e-commerce environments is highly desirable, particularly where you have worked on platforms processing transactions, payments or high volumes of customer activity.
You will work closely with senior engineers, frontend developers, DevOps, QA and product teams to build and continuously improve robust backend solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using C# and .NET.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Contribute to service-oriented and microservices architectures.
- Work with Azure cloud services to build secure and reliable applications.
- Develop and maintain high-quality, well-tested code.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests where required.
- Investigate, debug and resolve technical issues across backend services.
- Assist with performance optimisation and continuous improvement of existing systems.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including database design and optimisation.
- Implement and maintain appropriate caching strategies.
- Work with containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, frontend engineers and product teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the technical stack.
Core Requirements
- 3-5 years of professional software development experience, with strong backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET.
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with microservices or service-oriented architectures.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Docker and ideally Kubernetes.
- Experience with Azure services such as:
- Azure Key Vault
- Azure App Configuration
- Azure Queueing/Messaging services
- Azure AD B2C
- Strong SQL/database experience.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of caching strategies.
- Good understanding of software architecture, code organisation and design patterns.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Highly Desirable
- Experience within fintech, payments or e-commerce.
- Experience working on payment applications, payment gateways or transaction-heavy platforms.
- Experience working on products similar to large-scale digital commerce or financial platforms.
- Experience with Golang, TypeScript or other programming languages.
- AWS cloud experience.
- Azure or other cloud-related certifications.
