Grade: 31
Salary: $64,658.5-$75,378.5
The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a part-time Research Scientist V position. Research Scientist to join an NIH R01-funded project focused on addiction psychiatry and data science. The project integrates computational methods, clinical data analysis, and translational research to advance understanding and treatment of substance use disorders (SUDs), with emphases on psychiatric comorbidity, real-world evidence, and machine learning applications in addiction research.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct statistical and computational analyses of clinical, epidemiological, or administrative datasets related to substance use disorders.
- Contribute to study design, data management, and interpretation of results.
- Assist with manuscript preparation, grant-related reporting, and dissemination of findings.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with investigators, clinicians, and data analysts.
- Support other project needs as required (e.g., literature reviews, preliminary analyses).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree and six years of professional research experience in an appropriate field or Ph.D. in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience.
- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in neuroscience, statistics, epidemiology, computer science, bioinformatics, psychology, or a related quantitative field.
- At least (2) years of a strong background in data analysis, statistical modeling (R, Python, or similar), and/or machine learning.
- At least (2) years of experience with clinical or health-related datasets
- At least (2) years of prior research experience in psychiatry, addiction, or related areas is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience with participant recruitment, data entry, and maintenance of research records in a regulated research environment.
- Familiarity with gathering MRI data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
