Position Highlights:

The Deschutes County Circuit Court in Bend, Oregon, is hiring a Traffic Clerk (Court Operations Specialist).

In this role, you will enter new citations into the case management system, schedule traffic trials and landlord/tenant hearings, assess fines, extend hearing dates, process letters and cases, and provide real-time data entry. You will also answer questions about traffic procedures, outstanding fines, and hearing dates and will provide directions to customers.

Additionally, you will provide court reporting and judicial assistance during traffic arraignments and trials, landlord/tenant trials, and small claims trials, which includes answering offenders’ questions and recording pleas and dispositions. At the end of the day, you will ensure that the courtroom is clean.

Part of your time will be spent researching and resolving discrepancies in a list of financial reports. You will also provide backup for your co-workers in the unit as needed: processing landlord/tenant cases, and providing backup coverage to the mediation coordinator.

Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
