Job Description:
Reporting to the Director, Business & Systems Analysis Chapter, the Manager, Business & Systems Analysis Chapter will lead a team of talented Business & Systems Analysts who support Canadian Delivery. This team brings insight, expertise, and strong delivery partnership to squads across Sun Life Canada’s Digital Enterprise model.
You will be accountable for building a strong, engaged team; coaching and developing high-performing practitioners; and collaborating closely with delivery leaders and stakeholders to align talent to business priorities, strengthen team and supporting strong delivery outcomes. You will also help advance practice transformation by supporting adoption of new ways of working, emerging technologies (AI), and continuous improvement opportunities that create measurable stakeholder value.
What will you do?
Talent Management:
Coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of Business & Systems Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and growth.
Partner with team members to create meaningful career development plans and support progression through coaching, mentorship, stretch assignments, and targeted development opportunities.
Develop future-ready talent by building capabilities in business analysis, leadership, AI, data, and digital delivery practices.
Conduct regular performance and career conversations, providing timely feedback that supports individual growth and business outcomes.
Lead succession planning and knowledge retention efforts, identifying critical expertise, talent risks, and development opportunities.
Execute key people management responsibilities including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, retention, engagement, and workforce planning.
Promote employee engagement, wellbeing, and an inclusive environment where team members can thrive and perform at their best.
Support the development of emerging leaders and contribute to building a strong leadership pipeline within the Business Enablement Domain.
Stakeholder Management & Operational Excellence:
Partner with Journey, Platform, and Value Stream leaders to align chapter capacity with strategic priorities and delivery outcomes.
Lead demand and capacity planning activities, ensuring chapter resources are effectively deployed to maximize business value and maintain strong utilization.
Build and maintain workforce insights, including skills inventories, capability assessments, succession plans, and talent readiness metrics.
Use workforce and operational data to identify opportunities of improvement to support resource management and chapter operations to enhance efficiency and deliver effective scalability through digital enablement
Collaborate with leaders across Canadian Delivery to proactively anticipate talent needs and ensure the chapter is positioned to support current and future demand.
Practice Leadership & Digital Enablement:
Support innovation initiatives and help practitioners develop future-ready AI and digital skills
Champion the adoption of AI, automation, and emerging technologies that improve productivity, accelerate delivery, and strengthen knowledge retention.
Partner with chapter leadership to execute initiatives that advance the Business Enablement strategy and contribute to the achievement of Business Enablement OKRs.
Foster strong stakeholder relationships and maintain a deep understanding of business priorities, value stream objectives, and customer outcomes.
Contribute to the evolution of world-class Business & Systems Analysis practices, standards, frameworks, and communities of practice.
Leverage industry trends, data insights, and emerging practices to continuously enhance chapter effectiveness and practitioner capabilities.
Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation across Business Enablement, Canadian Delivery, and partner organizations.
Track and communicate practice outcomes, demonstrating the value and impact of Business Analysis capabilities on business and delivery results.
Support stakeholder satisfaction initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve services, strengthen partnerships, and deliver measurable value.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across leadership levels and teams.
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only as the position reports to a unilingual English-speaking manager outside Quebec.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
