Emergency Veterinarian – Sugar Land, TX
A veterinary specialty practice is seeking a Veterianarian to join its emergency care team. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who is passionate about emergency medicine, enjoys managing a diverse caseload of urgent and critical patients, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency and critical care patients.

Perform emergency procedures and surgical interventions within the scope of practice.

Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress throughout hospitalization.

Collaborate with specialists, veterinary technicians, and support staff to provide comprehensive patient care.

Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses with clients and referring veterinarians.

Maintain accurate and timely medical records.

Participate in case discussions, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Uphold the highest standards of emergency medicine, patient safety, and client service.
Qualifications
-
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.

Active or eligible veterinary license in the state of practice.

Internship training or experience in emergency medicine is preferred, but new graduates with a strong interest in emergency practice are encouraged to apply.

Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment.
