Joining CTS means embarking on a journey of limitless growth, relentless innovation, and the chance to set new industry standards that shape the future of Walmart.

- Write unit, integration, and regression tests (JUnit 5, Mockito etc) to ensure code quality and service reliability
- Participate in code reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback to maintain engineering standards across the team
- Debug and resolve production issues, contributing to root cause analysis and implementation of long-term fixes
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to understand system design patterns and apply them in feature development

- Add logging, metrics, and alerting to new and existing services to support observability and on-call operations
- Contribute to internal tools, libraries, and documentation to improve team productivity and knowledge sharing
- Support system reliability during high-traffic retail events (Black Friday, holiday surges) under the guidance of senior engineers
What you will bring
- 3 – 4 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on Java backend development
- Good proficiency in Java 8+ (Java 11/17 preferred), with a solid understanding of OOP, collections, and exception handling
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot for building RESTful APIs and microservices
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or other messaging/event-streaming platforms
- Familiarity with relational and NoSql databases, writing queries, working with ORMs (JPA/Hibernate), and understanding indexing basics
- Working knowledge of version control with Git — branching, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows
- Exposure to containerization concepts (Docker) and basic Kubernetes/cloud deployments
- Understanding of REST API design principles and experience consuming or building APIs
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code and improve it through refactoring and code reviews
- Good problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, high-scale environment
