Senior Category Manager – Facility Management
This role can be based the Hauge, Netherlands or Copenhagen, Denmark.
Facility Management touches the daily experience of every colleague and every terminal. As Senior Category Manager – Facility Management, you will lead the global Soft and Hard FM category strategy for APM Terminals, shaping safe, compliant, reliable and cost-effective services across our international terminal portfolio.
This is a highly visible global procurement role where your sourcing decisions will directly influence colleague safety, wellbeing and engagement, while supporting operational reliability and disciplined cost leadership. From canteen and catering services to cleaning programmes, maintenance support and facility management contracts, you will play a key role in creating workplaces that enable people and operations to perform at their best.

Lead and shape a global procurement category with significant impact on employee experience, safety and operational performance.
Partner with terminal leaders, technical teams and procurement professionals across a diverse international network.
Influence long-term category strategies, sourcing approaches and supplier performance programmes on a global scale.
Develop your expertise through cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement and complex strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Own and develop the global category strategy for Hard and Soft Facility Management services, including short, medium and long-term roadmaps.
Define service standards, scopes and service levels aligned to terminal requirements, risk profiles and employee impact.
Design sourcing strategies and contracts that strengthen health, safety, environmental and compliance performance, including third-party labour standards.
Lead major sourcing projects, RFQs, RFPs, negotiations and supplier selection processes across global and regional initiatives.
Establish and manage supplier relationship management frameworks, including KPIs, SLAs, performance reviews and continuous improvement plans.
Drive reliability and lifecycle value through preventive maintenance strategies, asset management alignment and long-term cost optimisation.
Embed sustainability considerations including energy efficiency, waste reduction and ESG reporting requirements into supplier strategies and contracts.

Significant procurement and category management experience in facilities management sourcing, contract management and solution design.
Strong knowledge of Hard FM and Soft FM services, including maintenance, cleaning, canteen, catering and site support solutions.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and guide decision-making in complex, decentralised and globally distributed environments.
Experience leading supplier negotiations, developing commercial models and implementing performance-based contractual frameworks.
Strong change management, stakeholder engagement and project leadership capabilities with an ownership mindset and focus on measurable outcomes.
Commitment to balancing safety, service quality, compliance, employee experience and value creation in sourcing decisions.
Willingness and ability to travel globally up to 20% of the time to engage with terminal teams and support sourcing and solution development activities.
