Job Description
A key member of Nordstrom’s HR Operations Systems team, the Senior Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in advancing and supporting critical HR technologies that enhance processes, enable business success, and elevate the employee experience across the full lifecycle.
This role is responsible for providing advanced technical and functional support for core HR systems, ensuring data accuracy, system reliability, and continuous improvement. The Senior Analyst partners closely with stakeholders across HR, IT, and the business to resolve complex issues, lead configuration efforts, and drive optimization of platforms such as Workday, ServiceNow HRSD, and Paradox. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solutions-oriented mindset that anticipates challenges and delivers impactful results.
A day in the life…
Provide strategic mindset in HR technology implementations, ensuring seamless system integration and functionality.
Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, HR Technology, and business stakeholders to align on initiatives and drive successful outcomes.
Evaluate new technology requests against the strategic roadmap, offering informed recommendations on scope, timing, and scalability.
Translate complex business requirements into actionable system configurations and detailed user stories.
Lead system upgrades, enhancements, testing, and validations to support continuous optimization.
Act as a subject matter expert with hands-on configuration across HR applications, including Workday (Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking).
Ensure data integrity and governance by performing audits, troubleshooting issues, and implementing sustainable solutions.
Manage knowledge base content and governance processes in partnership with Centers of Excellence (COEs).
Oversee compliant mass data imports/exports and support accurate reporting.
Identify and implement process improvements with scalable technology solutions.
Optimize ServiceNow HRSD workflows, monitor resolution metrics, and escalate as needed to maintain service standards.
Enhance employee self-service tools and recruiting engagement platforms like Paradox.
Drive system and process enhancements by effectively translating business needs into technical solutions.
You own this if you have…
3+ years of experience in HRIS, business analysis, or project/process configuration roles.
2+ years of experience as a system analyst or project lead.
Strong expertise in Workday configuration and HR applications.
Preferred ServiceNow HR Service Delivery expertise, including HR Table Structure, HR Services & Catalog, and ServiceNow Knowledge.
Understanding of software development lifecycle, database structures, and impact analysis.
Experience in developing business process flows and wireframes to visualize system changes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact across organizational levels.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including Excel proficiency.
Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
Experience utilizing JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Suite and other business tools

This is a hybrid role requiring the selected candidate to work onsite four (4) days per week and live within a commutable distance of Nordstrom's corporate offices in downtown Seattle, WA.
