Parts Department Manager


Consolidated Truck Parts & Service specializes in bumper-to-bumper light, medium and heavy-duty 

truck and equipment repair. We provide Service Done Right to get our clients back on the road and

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

Primary responsibilities include:

•  Lead, manage, and hold accountable Parts Department employees to excel in their job duties.

The Parts Department Manager reports directly to the General Manager. The direct reports of the 

Parts Department Manager are:

•  Parts Representative – Back Counter

•  Parts Representative – Front Counter

•  Inventory Manager

•  Parts Runner

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Do The Right Thing

•  Follow the Customer Communication Process to ensure excellent service to our customers.

•  Consistently promote a mindset that is focused on Safety and Quality that includes a monthly 

safety meeting and regular walk around inspections.

•  Measure all metrics and activity daily and address any lack of performance or metric immediately 

and clearly as to not let small problems grow into big problems.

•  Plan, control, communicate and implement procedures and processes for the overall efficient 

operations of the business.

•  Close all purchase orders timely and accurately according to policy.

•  Invest your time and attention in growing your knowledge and skills to perform your job better 

by keeping up to date on current industry trends, and technology improvements through personal 

research, attending training classes, and requesting training programs.

•  Promote continuing education, outreach, and training for your staff to stay in the know of what 

is happening in this industry.

•  Growing your people in the form of recruiting, sourcing, training, and coaching, creating high

clearing obstacles to ensure that operational excellence and results are achieved daily. Leading

•  Help resolve any inventory/parts issues or customer issues.

•  Ensure all employees have the tools and training they need to do their job effectively. If they 

do not, clear barriers and problem solve to make sure they do.

•  Assist employees as needed and fill the role of any department employee who is absent.

•  Special duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

•  Ensure all employees’ metrics are met on a consistent basis.

•  Department adheres to Customer Communication Process.



Requirements

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

•  Minimum 10 years experience in medium/heavy duty parts industry preferred.

•  Excellent oral and written communication skills

•  Visionary Leader who inspires and mobilizes subordinates to perform well and fulfill the company 

vision

•  Mature judgement

•  Self-motivated; measures self against standards of excellence; takes calculated risks to 

accomplish goals

•  Excellent planning and organizing skills

•  Professional demeanor

•  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office 

Teams

•  High school diploma or GED required.

•  Leadership experience or abilities.

•  Experience in hiring, firing, employee performance improvement strategy, facilitating meetings 

and conducting group training

•  Valid Driver’s License

•  Physical BFOQs

o Sitting, standing, and walking including ascending and descending stairs

o Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
