Role Synopsis
Would you like to join bp and help us embed a strong integrated operating culture to support the delivery of safe, reliable and efficient operations? We are now looking for Completion Engineer to join our team in Mumbai, India! From our Mumbai office, you will be supporting BP as Technical service provider for partners in successfully planning and delivering completion jobs.

 

Your main role will be to contribute to well planning and engineering, well construction, performance and lessons learned tracking related to wells within the partner Asset with an overall goal to improve processes, safety, well efficiencies and cost effectiveness.

Key Accountabilities
Work within an integrated team of engineers and operations to ensure delivery of high-quality wells activity, in accordance with industry safety and technical standards.

  • Contributes to development of completion engineering well designs and workover.
  • Prepares and supports execution of completion installation programs.
  • Tracks and reviews completion performance, identifying lessons learned.
  • Support the cross-discipline reviews of subsurface and drilling major NPT events and work as link between SST and WS.
  • Participate in and support efficiency improvement exercises such as 5WHYS, mini-RCFA and After-Action Reviews with other disciplines when needed.
  • Support the engineering feasibility studies of continuous improvement initiatives for completions and workover operations in Western Offshore including SIMOPS.
  • Support technology assessment, piloting and full-scale implementation for Completion solutions, Rigless workovers, and Downhole material selection.
  • Promote awareness and compliance with HSE rules and industry practices.
     

Essential Education:

  • Formal qualifications constituting university degrees, examination certificates that confirm a level of educational attainment or licenses.
  • Membership of a technical or professional body that has confirmed an individual has reached a level of capability within a technical or professional field (usually but not necessarily obtained through examinations) or Formal certification that they can undertake specialist work or processes e.g. PMI.
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent program from an Accredited University.
  • Membership of a recognised professional body.

Essential Experience and Job Requirements:

Essential work, business, technical or operational experience which an applicant must possess, otherwise they will be unable to adequately perform the job.

  • A definition of the knowledge, skills, abilities and attributes that the candidate needs to have and/or
  • Competencies (action, behavior, or outcome that the candidate should be able to demonstrate)
  • Experience
  • Minimum 6+ years of broad experience and deep technical completion engineering, operational and rig-based workovers skills, gained through diverse work assignments.
  • Experience of working in multi-discipline / functional project team and ability to influence others to provide quality inputs to ensure quality team delivery.
  • Aptitude to innovate and open to new ideas.
  • Able to manage multiple activities and to quickly respond to changing business priorities.
  • Extensive experience in offshore platform operations preferably in brown fields.
  • Experience working in planning and execution of well completions, rig-based workovers, cost optimization and well performance initiatives.
  • Experience in OHGP, CHGP, cased and perforation, Limited Entry Liner, sliding sleeves, straddled and frac sleeves completion, dual completion designs.
  • Proficient user of Engineering Software Packages such as WellCAT, WellPlan, OpenWells, PackPro, Cerberus.
  • Experience dealing with completions NPT causes as fluid losses, fishing and well integrity related issues.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate confidently at all organizational levels.

Desirable criteria

Desirable criteria are those that may enable the candidate to perform better & qualifications or require a shorter familiarization period. During the selection process evidence should be sought to gain an understanding of the extent to which candidates who satisfied the minimum criteria demonstrate the desired criteria for the role.  This evidence will then allow differentiation between the candidates and form the basis for selection.

  • Experience in various well intervention operations such as: acid stimulation, hydraulic fracture, water shut off, zone transfer, well integrity remediation, re-completion, and rigless intervention.
  • Experience working in international JV’s and complex multicultural environments is preferred.  Appreciates the challenges of and value generated by a diverse working environment. 
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in working with National Oil Companies is desirable.
