Description
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with identification of appropriate research funding opportunities, disseminating information and deadlines and supporting planning and execution of individual and collaborative applications.
Understand and apply federal and other sponsor guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements to support investigators and other relevant teams with grant applications and funded project support.
Contribute to the development, preparation, revision, and finalization of project budgets and budget justifications.
Support preparation of proposals including preparing submission checklists, ensuring compliance, management and maintenance of required documents such as biosketches, facilities and equipment documents, other support, protocols and collaborator agreements.
In collaboration with Grants Management and Grants Accounting, coordinate submission and support management of awarded research funding, grants and sponsored programs (e.g., preparation and review of initial budgets, budget monitoring, monitoring of subawards, salary and effort allocations, award lifecycle management, prior approvals and close-out).
Coordinate with members from research teams, sponsor institutions and other teams to facilitate standard issue resolution, and escalate as needed.
Manage negotiation of standard terms and conditions associated with sponsored research agreements to ensure consistency with institutional policies.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Prior experience with research finance, grant preparation and grants management, particularly in technical biomedical areas including imaging and technology development will be a major advantage.
Exceptional attention to detail and time management is essential.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum Requirement: 2+ years of experience in financial administration processes as applicable to grants and sponsored programs.
Experience in financial management and budgeting including strong competence in MS Excel or equivalent.
Experience relating to biomedical research funding including grants and sponsored programs.
This position is primarily onsite. Relocation assistance is provided to candidates who do not reside in the Memphis area.

This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
