What you'll be doing

As a Financial Planning Strategist, you will be responsible for supporting and working closely with Relationship Managers (RM), Business Development Officers and clients to analyze, communicate and implement financial planning strategies for HNW/UHNW clients, as well as provide client support to the Wealth Strategies team.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How you'll succeed

  • Perform financial planning analyses, including reviewing financial statements and other data, gathering additional data as necessary, entering data, evaluating alternative scenarios to respond to the client request, as well as alternatives to prompt additional planning considerations.

  • Adapt computer-generated output to polished brand format, and review plan with RM to confirm it meets expectations.

  • Deliver financial plan to clients, discuss potential planning options based on results, and perform live alternative planning scenarios as appropriate.

  • Efficiently triage, prioritize, and manage multiple requests with minimal guidance and supervision.

  • Assist in developing additional financial planning models and offerings.

  • Promote the financial planning offering across the firm.

Who you are

  • Financial Planning Experience. You have experience developing and presenting financial plans to clients and colleagues.

  • Technically proficient: You possess excellent technology skills with demonstrated proficiency in eMoney (or similar financial planning tools), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as Adobe.

  • You’re a certified professional. You have a CFP, CTFA, CPA, or similar designation.

  • Strong communicator: You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience effectively communicating financial planning strategies to HNW/UHNW clients.

  • You act like an owner. You thrive when you're empowered to take initiative, go above and beyond, and deliver results.

  • You know that details matter. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.

  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.

  • You are organized. You possess exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, problem solve and meet deadlines.

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
