Description
Parachute is a Y Combinator S25 startup building an agentic trading platform. As a Founding Engineer, you will work directly with the founders to build production-grade agentic systems, backend infrastructure, and state-of-the-art quantitative trading strategies and backtesting.
What You’ll Do
- Technical Development – Design and ship new features, MVPs, and scalable solutions that deliver direct value to customers
- Full Stack Development – Develop backend systems with a focus on scalability & improve infrastructure across AWS, databases, and containerized services
- AI/ML Applications – Develop agentic systems that power financial research and trading workflows
- Data Engineering – Build and improve financial data pipelines powering research and trading systems, working with large financial datasets
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience with AWS infrastructure: ECS ALBs, S3, RDS
- Experience building backend systems: concurrency, multithreading, or asynchronous programming
- Experience building production-grade agentic systems
- Experience with application security, system reliability, and performance fundamentals
- Strong PostgreSQL fundamentals: schema design, indexing, query optimization, and connection pooling
- Experience with Docker, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions or an equivalent platform
- Experience with machine learning
- Understanding of financial markets, trading strategies, or financial datasets
Previous experience at a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, asset manager, fintech company, market data provider, or quantitative research group is a plus, but not required.
