The Director of Annual Giving is a key leader within University Relations, responsible for advancing the University's culture of philanthropy through leadership giving, multi-channel fundraising, volunteer engagement, and donor stewardship.

Another Source’s client, the University of Puget Sound, is recruiting a Director of Annual Giving to join their team in Tacoma, Washington.  

This is a hybrid opportunity, with the ability to work remotely up to two days per week after six months of employment.

About this role: 

This is an exceptional opportunity for an annual giving professional who is passionate about building programs, inspiring donors, and leading strategy. If you have a passion for annual giving and are ready to truly 'run your own shop,' this role offers the autonomy to shape the future of the University's annual giving efforts while leading a talented team and collaborating with senior advancement leaders.  Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Constituent Relations, you'll oversee a comprehensive annual giving program that raises more than $2 million annually through leadership giving, multi-channel fundraising, volunteer engagement, digital campaigns, giving days, reunion giving, and more. You'll also serve as a visible leader within University Relations, helping cultivate a culture of philanthropy across campus and throughout the Puget Sound community. 

How you will spend your time 

  • Lead and execute a comprehensive annual giving strategy that achieves fundraising and donor participation goals for the Puget Sound Fund. 
  • Manage and grow a $2M+ unrestricted annual giving program through integrated, multi-channel fundraising strategies. 
  • Cultivate and solicit leadership annual gifts while managing a personal portfolio of donors capable of making gifts from $1,000 to $50,000+. 
  • Expand leadership giving participation and strengthen the President's Leadership Society in partnership with advancement colleagues. 
  • Direct signature fundraising initiatives, including the Logger Day Challenge, reunion giving, and other annual campaigns. 
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team consisting of an Assistant Director, Leadership Gift Officer, Office Manager, and student staff. 
  • Oversee volunteer engagement strategies. 
  • Partner across University Relations and develop data-informed fundraising strategies using Raiser's Edge NXT. 
  • Manage annual giving budgets and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Three or more years of experience leading or overseeing a fundraising program. 
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing annual fundraising strategies. 
  • Proven experience soliciting gifts through face-to-face donor cultivation. 
  • Experience leading volunteers and high-performing teams. 
  • Excellent organizational, project management, communication, and analytical skills. 
  • Experience with fundraising databases; Raiser's Edge NXT preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. 
  • Willingness to travel as needed. 

Compensation & Benefits 

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $88,000 - $96,000.
