Job Description

IT System Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT System Engineer. Role is to involve in coordination of hardware and software acquisition, tracking, assignment, decommissioning, disposal and generally maintaining hardware and software inventory and assets; coordinates asset movement throughout the company and maintains software title and license inventories.

You will report to the Engineering Manager – IT and work in a hybrid capacity from one of our India -Pune office.

Key Responsibilities

·       Manage and drive infrastructure-related projects for lab setup, upgrades, and improvements.

·       Ensure lab environments follow standard architecture and approved designs.

·       Understand project requirements and define necessary infrastructure and compute needs.

·       Handle installation, configuration, and management of hardware within the lab.

·       Maintain secure and reliable network connectivity across lab and organizational systems.

·       Support and resolve issues across both cloud and on-prem environments.

·       Keep clear communication with users and stakeholders during ongoing work and issue handling.

·       Take ownership of asset and resource tracking, including inventory management.

·       Work on vulnerability management, including identifying and addressing security gaps.

On Prem Infrastructure

·       Support and maintain on-prem infrastructure and related environments.

·       Troubleshoot data Center and environment related issues.

·       Provide technical support and maintain proper documentation.

·       Understanding of AD, DNS, DHCP, and networking basics (IPv4/IPv6).

·       Manage virtualization platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, and Proxmox.

·       Handle server maintenance, firmware upgrades, and configurations.

·       Manage backup and recovery using tools like Veeam.

·       Work with vendors for hardware support and installations.

·       Perform firmware updates and patching aligned with security requirements.

·       Support hardware setup activities including rack & stack and environment readiness.

Cloud Infrastructure

·       Manage Azure subscriptions and resource groups.

·       Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure using standard templates.

·       Work on cost optimization, including auto scale and usage monitoring.

·       Document deployments, configurations, and best practices.

·       Coordinate with teams for regular VM patching activities.

·       Configure and manage auto scaling (scale up/down, scale out/in) for Azure resources.

·       Identify unused resources and coordinate decommissioning to reduce cost.

·       Create and maintain Azure Workbooks for monitoring and reporting.

·       Perform VM troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.

The Essentials – You Will Have:

·       Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field OR certification or equivalent experience

·       MCSA, MSCE, MCITP Certified & Azure (Az-104) Certified.

·       Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell preferred).

·       Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.

·       Experience with ticketing tools like ServiceNow.

·       Basic understanding of security and compliance practices.

·       Ability to drive process improvement, SOP creation, and documentation governance.
