Essential Functions
Promotes a philosophy of patient/family-focused care through cordial greetings and interactions with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Provides hospital/unit orientation information for guests, patients, and families.
Demonstrates an awareness of hospital systems and procedures, the location of all departments, procedure areas, and other patient services.
Refers patients, families, and others to appropriate resources.
Independently transports and assists in the transfer of patients.
Properly identifies patients utilizing two approved identifiers.
Ensures safety and support measures during patient transfers (i.e., bedrails raised, patient covered with a blanket, and kept warm).
Is aware of special precautions when transferring patients requiring isolation or other precautions.
