Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated Software Engineering Manager to lead the development of our next generation of products. As a Manager, Software Engineering iOS, you will lead and manage a scrum team of highly skilled iOS developers and be responsible for designing, building, and delivering medical grade mobile applications and SDKs. This is a highly visible role in the organization where you will get a lot of visibility and recognition for your work. This role involves taking ownership and delivering features on time with quality and the support from cross functional teams. Candidates should be a technical leader with experience in leading teams, coaching engineers and delivering production-quality software.
Responsibilities:
Lead and Manage Scrum teams of iOS software developers both local and remote
Engage in early stages of development to create/refine/review requirements and specifications
Work with product managers and architects to understand requirements and system design and lead the engineering team to decompose them into low-level software design and components
An excellent team player with a positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams in scoping, prioritizing, planning, designing and execution.
Ability to not only spot problems but articulate solutions—and guide and empower others in executing them
Set and implement best practices for software development including unit testing, code reviews
Ensure quality and consistency in software architecture and implementation
Evaluate current & new technologies for adoption and build apps that meet the latest standards
Coach and motivate your team to deliver outcome while taking care of their career interest
Be prepared for hands-on coding and code reviews when required
Learn, and follow Insulet’s design assurance SOPs
Provide strategic input to leadership to meet program objectives and start new initiatives
Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering
10+ years software development experience
5+ years leading software development teams in mobile applications
2+ years managing direct reports
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
Experience developing iOS applications in Swift, SwiftUI and similar declarative framework
Knowledge of Reactive functional Framework (RxSwift or Combine)
Good understanding of Redux-like architectures (Composable Architecture is even better)
Experience developing Android applications in Java/Kotlin is a big plus
Experience working with Bluetooth and BLE a plus
Understanding of Cloud technologies and protocols, e.g. APIs, REST, OAuth 2.0, JSON
Strong leadership to manage a team
Curiosity to learn
Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Experience with FDA and HIPAA regulations a big plus
Physical Requirements (if applicable):
Occasional business travel within US and globally
Off-hour availability for critical issues

As an iOS Software Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage a team of skilled developers building medical mobile applications and SDKs. You will partner with teams, both local and abroad, to build world class medical device software. Candidates should have experience leading teams and developing production-quality software.
Responsibilities:
Manage co-located Scrum teams of developers, testers, product owners, and scrum masters
Work with product managers and UX designers to define new features
Ensure scrum team members have necessary product and technical specifications to accurately estimate deliverables and meet deadlines on time
Design, develop, and deliver iOS Swift applications and SDKs
Mentor and motivate software developers to deliver high quality code using software best practices and patterns
Ensure quality and consistency in software architecture and implementation
Evaluate new technologies and explore solution alternatives; develop prototypes
Work with senior team members to plan and execute project objectives; provide detailed and timely status; identify risk mitigations when needed
Learn and follow Insulet design assurance SOPs
Provide timely support to team customers, internal and external
Respond to production escalations and coordinate resolution amongst team
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience)
10+ years software development experience
3+ years leading software development teams (preferred)
2+ years managing direct reports (preferred)
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of iOS architectural patterns and design
Experience developing iOS applications, preferably in Swift
Experience developing Android applications a plus
Experience working with Bluetooth and BLE a plus
Understanding of Cloud technologies and protocols, e.g. APIs, REST, OAuth 2.0, JSON
Experience maintaining a CI/CD pipeline
Experience with Git
Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Experience with FDA and HIPAA regulations a plus
