About the Role

We are looking for a System Architect to take ownership of an existing AI-driven, low-code application ecosystem. This role is not a traditional software engineering position; instead, it focuses on system design, orchestration, optimization, and maintenance of interconnected tools and workflows that power automated reporting and data processing systems.

The ideal candidate is highly comfortable with low-code platforms, AI tools, workflow automation, and systems thinking, with the ability to operate and evolve an existing production MVP into a more scalable architecture over time.

This role will initially focus on stabilizing, maintaining, and improving the current system, with future opportunities to expand functionality and transition toward more traditional engineering solutions.

What you’ll do

• Take ownership of an existing AI-enabled low-code system architecture

• Maintain and improve end-to-end workflows across multiple tools and platforms, including:

• Make (core workflow automation backbone)

• Tally (data intake forms)

• Airtable (data storage / lightweight database layer)

• GPT integrations (content generation and decision support via Make modules)

• PDF Monkey (automated report generation)

• Google Drive (report storage and management)

• Netlify (JavaScript functions for advanced logic)

• Support and enhance multi-step automation workflows with light conditional logic

• Identify and resolve system brittleness, gaps, and operational inefficiencies in the MVP

• Improve system reliability, monitoring, and maintainability (minimal current error handling in place)

• Introduce and evaluate new AI tools, agents, and automation solutions to improve efficiency

• Work closely with AI-generated processes including:

• Data extraction and synthesis

• Report generation workflows

• Sector-based calculations and persona-driven AI review steps

• Support occasional JavaScript-level logic (no heavy coding expected)

• Recommend improvements in tooling, architecture, and workflow design

• Help guide gradual evolution of the system toward a more structured engineering stack over time

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience working the similar field or function

• Strong experience with low-code / no-code platforms (Make or similar automation tools)

• Deep understanding of system architecture and workflow design

• Experience working with AI tools (GPT, LLM-based workflows, agents)

• Ability to manage and connect multiple SaaS tools into a unified system

• Strong understanding of data flow between systems (lightweight DBA concepts)

• Comfortable working with automation logic, APIs, and integrations

• Ability to think like a system owner, not just an executor

• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on system stability and scalability

• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving MVP/startup environment
