About the Role
Position
The Derivatives Operations team supports a broad range of post-trade activities across bilateral and cleared OTC derivatives, futures, listed options, TBAs, and repo. This role is responsible for daily collateral and margin management, including margin calls, settlements, reconciliations, accounting
support, lifecycle event processing, trade messaging, and operational controls in the futures, cleared, and listed options space.
The Analyst partners closely with brokers, counterparties, vendors, client relationship teams, traders, and technology teams to ensure accurate trade capture, timely processing, issue resolution, and responsive client support. The role also contributes to operational improvement initiatives by identifying automation opportunities, enhancing workflows, participating in testing and implementations, and supporting efficiencies across derivatives processing and risk management activities. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex, time-sensitive responsibilities in a collaborative yet self-directed environment.
Responsibilities
• Review margin calls from brokers, investigate discrepancies, and issue wires to meet margin and collateral needs.
• Monitor and manage collateral requirements, including balance supervision and collateral selection.
• Perform daily control reconciliations, including holdings, futures trades, collateral, and currency balances between internal accounting systems, clearing brokers, custodians, and clearing houses.
• Support day-to-day broker relationships, including issue resolution, inquiries, escalation, and participation in operational review meetings.
• Serve as a resource for incoming queries and issues raised by clients, custodians, accounting agents, brokers, portfolio managers, trading, and other internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve front-to-back efficiency and strengthen control processes; assist in implementing necessary changes.
• Act as a steward of risk and controls by maintaining accurate documentation, procedures, and high- quality outputs.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record.
• 2+ years of experience in investment operations; exchange-traded and cleared derivatives experience preferred.
• Knowledge of collateral, margin, or other post-trade operational processes is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and escalate issues appropriately.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and time-sensitive deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and demonstrate initiative in identifying process improvement opportunities.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, SQL, or other data analysis tools is a plus.

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
USD 80,000 - 150,000This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
