Description
Responsibilities
- Provide site-based technical support, troubleshooting and repair of complete large CAT equipment.
- Diagnose engines, powertrain, hydraulic, braking, steering, undercarriage and structural systems.
- Use CAT ET and SIS for diagnostics, technical information and repair procedures.
- Lead complex fault finding, Carry out component removal, installation, testing and commissioning under approved procedures.
- Plan and support component removal, installation, testing and commissioning.
- Perform and support onsite repairs within available capability, tooling and approved procedures.
- Support warranty inspections, failure reporting, evidence collection and claim documentation.
- Ensure repairs follow approved procedures, quality standards and safety requirements.
- Record findings, repair details and recommendations in work reports and maintenance systems.
- Escalate repeat or major failures and support root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 5–7 years’ relevant experience in heavy equipment maintenance; CAT mining equipment experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, reporting and team-coordination skills.
- CAT large equipment experience is preferred.
- Good English communication and computer literacy.
- Able to work on day and night shifts according to roster.
- Comply with EHS requirements, risk assessment/JSA, Lockout/Tagout and Stop Work Authority.
- Follow working-at-height, confined-space, lifting/rigging and fatigue-management controls where applicable.
- Report hazards and near misses and follow environmental and spill-control procedures.
- Valid driving licence.
