Position Summary:

The Inventory Returns Processor is responsible for maintaining inventory control within the warehouse and SAP systems.  This role is responsible for problem solving inventory issue and accurately processing inbound return goods within the warehouse, ensuring inventory levels remain accurate. This position will have contact with multiple customers, evaluate product, prepare, and maintain the documentation process while determining the best outcome for each returned item.

This role requires cross-functional teamwork within the warehouse operations team, supply chain planning, and finance business areas to ensure overall inventory integrity.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update inventory records in SAP.
  • Audit warehouse inventory and root cause variances
  • Implement visual workspace standards to clearly define inventory vs. non-inventory items.
  • Coordinate with cycle count team to conduct scheduled cycle counts on a defined basis.
  • Support physical inventory audits within company standards.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouse.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually and/or computer program.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Verify inventory by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming orders.
  • Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors by identified process.
  • Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock
  • Keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Prepare products, supplies, equipment, or other items for use by adjusting, repairing, or assembling them as necessary.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed. 
  • May perform other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or relevant qualification
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an inventory control related role
  • Proven understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control processes
  • Strong analytical, root cause, and problem-solving skills utilizing Microsoft Excel, Access, SAP, or other related software tools.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic fast-paced, changing, and demanding work environment.
  • Strong organizational, eye for detail, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Positive attitude with ability to work in a team as well as independently.
  • An understanding of OSHA safety rules for warehouse work

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of SAP S4, and standard warehouse operations
