This role owns the data domains of Finance and Controlling across applicable functions, countries, categories, and manufacturing plants. The Data SME drives regional data harmonization, governance, and migration activities, enabling seamless collaboration between partnering teams and business teams for a smooth S/4HANA transition.


How you will contribute


The Regional Data SME owns the data object scope for their domain at the regional level, serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders on all data migration activities. This role ensures seamless data harmonization, governance, and accurate migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA by partnering closely with Global Data Teams and cross-functional stakeholders to bridge global standards with regional requirements.

Key Responsibilities


Discovery & Scope Management

  • Understand the global data template and own the regional scope for Finance, Controlling & Fixed Assets.

  • Identify and document legacy data objects, sources, and dependencies from SAP ECC.

  • Review existing documentation and data landscape to establish a clear baseline.

  • Map business SMEs, data validators, and key stakeholders for the domain.

  • Identify deviations on the Global Data Template and communicate them to the Regional Transformation Lead for alignment with the Global Data Team.


Fit-Gap Analysis & Design Decisions

  • Facilitate Fit-Gap sessions with the implementation partner (Infosys) for the Finance, Controlling & Fixed Assets data domain.

  • Support the business team in mapping business SMEs and data validators to relevant data objects.

  • Identify gaps and deviations between the global template and regional/local business requirements.

  • Capture all changes, decisions, and open items during Fit-Gap sessions.

  • Prepare and maintain Key Design Decision (KDD) documents based on Fit-Gap outcomes.

  • Collaborate with work streams to ensure business requirements are addressed in the Master Data area.


Data Profiling, Mapping & Migration

  • Provide business insights and information to the Global Data Migration Team for data profiling, extraction, and conversion from legacy system(s).

  • Work with the implementation partner to build the mapping of Key Elements for Finance, Controlling & Fixed Assets Master Data between SAP ECC and S/4HANA.

  • Partner cross-functionally to perform and confirm value mappings.

  • Review that CDDs/Mapping Documents are consistent with the global and regional governance model.

  • Validate data extraction rules and conversion logic.

  • Execute Data Migration activities including reporting, analysis, and requirements gathering.

  • Support mock migration cycles (Trial Loads) and review results.

  • Identify and resolve data conversion errors and discrepancies.

  • Complete data collection for manual/construction objects on time.


Data Cleansing & Harmonization

  • Lead data cleansing tasks for Finance, Controlling & Fixed Assets data objects.

  • Drive data harmonization activities in alignment with global standards.

  • Coordinate with business data owners to resolve data quality issues.

  • Track and report data cleansing progress and quality metrics.


Data Harmonization & Governance

  • Work closely with Global and Regional business teams on domain-specific requests in the areas of Data Harmonization, Governance, and Data Migration activities from SAP ECC into SAP S4/o9 entities.

  • Deploy and coordinate Governance and Sustainability initiatives with functions, markets, plants, and categories (Quality, Performance, Training/Testing, Industry Standards).

  • Ensure master data solutions comply with governance, audit, and control requirements.

  • Adopt Mondelez Documentation standards across all deliverables.


Testing & Validation

  • Coordinate regional testing execution in partnership with nominated key users.

  • Ensure Data Accuracy and end-to-end (E2E) testing to eliminate downstream impacts.

  • Lead the data validation process and sign-off for the respective domain.

  • Lead defect management — log, track, and drive resolution of data-related defects.

  • Participate in integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) cycles.


Training & Change Management

  • Execute training programs for internal data management staff and business users involved in master data activities.

  • Ensure adherence to established data management standards in the specific Master Data Domain.

  • Prepare training materials and documentation per Mondelez Documentation standards.

  • Support change management and adoption of standardized processes.


Go-Live & Hypercare

  • Support cutover data migration activities during go-live.

  • Provide expert guidance and issue resolution during the hypercare period.

  • Monitor data quality and resolve post-migration data issues.

  • Hand over documentation and knowledge to BAU/operations teams.


Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and improve Performance Measures.

  • Utilize data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in master data, contributing to decision-making and process improvement.


Ongoing Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary POC for stakeholders on data migration scope for Finance, Controlling & Fixed Assets.

  • Deliver all regional data migration workshops and discussions around the respective domain data objects.

  • Provide regular reporting and status updates to stakeholders on progress, milestones, and any potential issues or challenges.

  • Foster open communication channels to facilitate transparency and collaboration.

Education

  • 4-year degree in Data Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience in business process operations in a large organization, ideally in the consumer goods industry.

  • 6+ years of experience in data migration, master data management, or data governance roles.

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP ECC and SAP S4/HANA, particularly in Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), and Fixed Assets (AA) modules.

  • Proven experience in large-scale ERP transformation/migration projects.

  • Solid understanding of data profiling, data cleansing, data mapping, and data conversion methodologies.

  • Experience with data governance frameworks and documentation standards.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a global/regional matrix organization (FMCG/CPG industry preferred).

  • Familiarity with o9 planning platform integration.

  • SAP certification in relevant modules (FI/CO/AA).

  • Experience with data migration tools and ETL processes.

  • Knowledge of data quality management tools and techniques.
