Benefit Specialist - Human Resources - Full Time - 8 Hour - Days

Job Description:

The Benefit Specialist is responsible for effectively administering the health care benefit programs offered by JMH. This role will serve as the primary contact for employees and will educate, inform and counsel a diverse group of employees in regards to their health care benefits. Interacts on a daily basis with plan administrators, insurance carriers, the payroll team and employees.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree - Human Resources or related field - Required or

• Equivalent work experience - Required

Experience:

• 2 - 3 years of experience in Benefit Administration including working with self-insured plans and unions - Preferred

• 1 year of experience working in Human Resources - Required

License/Certifications:

• SHRM-SCP Senior Certified Professional - SHRM Society for Human Resource Management - Preferred or

• PHR Professional in Human Resources - HRCI HR Certification Institute - Preferred

• Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with an excellent phone manner

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Quality focus with strong attention to detail, ensuring all work is completed with excellence and to high standards for quality and integrity

• Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and agency interpretations or opinions related to healthcare plans

• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)

• Ability to work effectively with Human Resources Information Systems

• Workday experience - Preferred

$46.23 - $62.43
