Project Manager – Asphalt Paving Operations
Fargo, ND | Border States Paving, Inc.
Border States Paving is a family-owned asphalt paving company looking for an experienced Project Manager (seasonal travel required) to join our highway paving team.
This is a hands-on position working directly with DOT highway projects, paving crews, plant production, trucking, and materials. If you have experience in asphalt or highway construction, enjoy being out in the field, and take pride in getting the job done right, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Manage day-to-day project activities for highway paving operations
- Coordinate paving crews, plant production, trucking, and materials
- Communicate directly with DOT personnel regarding project details
- Maintain accurate project records and weekly work certifications
- Work with project personnel to resolve issues and find practical solutions
- Monitor project progress and help keep work on schedule
- Follow and enforce project and company safety requirements
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and field personnel
What We're Looking For
- Experience in highway construction, asphalt paving, materials production, or engineering preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented and self-directed
- Good math and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- HCSS Heavy Bid/Heavy Job experience preferred, but not required
- Mechanical aptitude and a good driving record
- Ability to work well with others, learn on the job, and follow directions
Extensive summer travel is required, as this is a road-based position.
