Description

The City of Inver Grove Heights is hiring for seasonal Gym/ Facility Attendants to supervise gym activities including youth and adult volleyball leagues, ensure all equipment is safely set-up and ready to use.

This position is responsible for maintaining facility rules and regulations and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of Volleyball League participants. Responsibilities Include on-site supervision of all volleyball leagues for Fall and Winter.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Maintains the facility rules, regulations and policies while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants.
  • Remains aware of needed repairs and reports such needs to the Recreation Coordinator.
  • Attends staff meetings as required.
  • Develops a positive rapport with program participants.
  • Acts responsibly in any emergency.
  • Prepares Incident and Accident Reports as required.
  • Monitors attendance and collects official game scores.
  • Supervision of program participants.
  • Main point of contact for questions or concerns.
  • Responsible for providing participants with equipment and ensuring its properly stored. 
  • Performing opening and closing duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQIIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must possess a good attitude and judgment when dealing with the public, participants, and facility management.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to deal effectively with people and exhibit responsible judgment for disciplinary actions and in emergency situations.
  • Responds to complaints and directs appropriate corrective actions to the problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain tactful and effective working relationships with co-workers, program participants and the public.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

  • Ability to understand and follow written or oral instructions.
  • Some previous work involving contact with the public or with recreation programs.
  • Ability to perform physical duties as needed.
  • Sufficiently responsible to handle disciplinary actions and participant confrontations.
  • First Aid and CPR training.
