The successful engineer will contribute to the overall development of electro-optical infrared subsystems, including developing functional architectures, analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements, You will design, develop, build, and test EW systems in conjunction with key suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Support development and integration of subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
- Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Perform functional and performance analyses
- Conducting trade studies
- Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders
- Review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
- Perform informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab, troubleshooting hardware in the lab
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM discipline and 2 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 0 years of experience
- Knowledge of EO/IR phenomenology
- Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing EOIR equipment for airborne platforms.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environment
- Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in EO/IR system and atmospheric modeling
- Knowledge of digital image processing algorithms
- Experience in decomposing, deriving, allocating and tracing requirements from system to component level
- Experience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar tools
- Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives
- Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
- Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
- Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design review
